Custom made functional small crossbows for civil defence; very popular during the ‘Border Reivers’ time in the Scottish/English borders in the late 16th and early 17thC.
They have a powerful draw for such small bows of about 2-300lb and due to the inbuilt lever are very fast to reload and because of the top trigger button they can be shot one handed.
